How to Install and Use Tampermonkey on Android
Even though Tampermonkey is a userscript manager extension for browsers, it can also be used as a dedicated userscript for android phones. Keep in mind though that the version available for Android devices may not have all the features needed to work on all visited websites. However, it will support basic userscripts.
Follow the steps outlined below to install and use this browser extension.
- Visit Google Play Store and type ‘Tampermonkey’ in the search bar. Be sure you do not choose the one labeled with Chrome and opera
- Download the one with ‘derjanb’ label, which is the one compatible with android devices. Click on install to get the app on your android phone
- After the installation, click on the app’s icon to launch it.
- On the basic web browser window that will be opened to you, look out for Tampermonkey’s icon on the page through which you can install userscripts
- Search for the userscripts you want to install from the list and click install
- At this point, a small pop-up will ask if you want to install userscripts from Tampermonkey or Chrome, or any other browser on your phone. Click to install on userscripts from Tampermonkey
- Click OK to complete the installation
Every time you launch a Google search, you can search the menu option for all the current scripts running on the website you are looking at.

How To Install and Use Tampermonkey on Chrome
- Visit www.Tampermonkey.net to download a version that is compatible with Chrome
- Click on the blue +FREE buttons to install this extension
- Click Add in the pop-up window asking if you’ll like to add Tampermonkey
- After it has been installed, you’ll get a message saying Tampermonkey has been added to Chrome
- Once the Tampermonkey extension has been installed, you may also install userscripts from OpenUserJS.org. Locate the script you need and click on the install button colored blue on the page
When browsing with Chrome, you can click on the options menu of the page to find the Tampermonkey icon. Clicking on this icon will display a list of scripts currently running on that site. Normally you don’t need to do anything, but if you notice that the scripts are causing any sort of problem, switch Tampermonkey OFF, reload the page and see if the problem has been solved
How To Install and Use Tampermonkey on Firefox
- Visit www.tampermonkey.net to download a version that is compatible with Firefox if you have not yet done so. It is just like downloading an addon. Just be sure you have the most recent version of Firefox installed
- Once it has been installed, the Tampermonkey icon will be immediately displayed on the top of Firefox’s page
- Click on the Tampermonkey icon to view the options displayed
- To add a new script, click on create a new script
- Manually copy the code of the userscript you want installed and paste the code in the box provided
- You can also check for userscript updates. This automatically updates any scripts that have not been updated

How To Install and Use Tampermonkey on Opera
- Visit tampermonkey to download a version that is compatible with opera. You have to update your opera version so Tampermonkey Adds-on will be installed
- Click on the green Add to opera button on the Tampermonkey page to install this extension to Opera
- On the Tampermonkey page, after a series of pop-ups, you will get a message stating that Tampermonkey has been added to opera.
- On your opera Window, the Tampermonkey icon will be visible on the top of the page
- Click on the Tampermonkey icon to view the options displayed
- To add a new script, click on create a new script
- Manually copy the code of the userscript you want installed and paste the code in the box provided
