How To Take A Screenshot On HP Laptops [Envy, Pavilion & ProBook]

To take a screenshot on HP laptops, press the ‘FN’, Windows, and ‘PRT SC’ buttons on your keyboard all at the same time. You would notice your screen dim a little to indicate that you have taken a screenshot, then go to File explorer >> Pictures >> “Screenshots” folder, you should see the image here.

There are a few more ways to take a screenshot on HP laptops. You can decide to use some other shortcuts, tools, or plugins/extensions. Some of these methods come with more features than others.

METHOD 1: Take A Screenshot on HP Laptops with the PRT SC Button

You can also take a screenshot on HP laptops by pressing just the ‘PrtSc’ button on your keyboard to capture your entire screen – you should note that this does not save it, it just copies the image.   8. When you are done, save the image in your desired location
  9. If you do not wish to edit the screenshot, then open ‘Paint’ or any other image editing tool and press the ‘CTRL’ and ‘V’ buttons together to past the snip
  10. Then edit and save it

To use the Snip & Sketch Tool via a shortcut:

  1. Pressing the Windows, ‘SHIFT’ and ‘S’ buttons together to create a screen snip
  2. After this is done, a screen will come up, you may select rectangular snip, freeform snip, window snip, or full-screen snip from the top of the screen
  3. Then use your mouse to draw around the area you want to capture
  4. Open “Paint” or any other image editing tool and press the ‘CTRL’ and ‘V’ buttons together to paste the snip
  5. Then edit and save it

How to Screenshot on HP ProBook Laptops

To screenshot on HP ProBook laptops:

  1. Press the Windows and ‘G’ buttons together to open ‘Game Bar’.
  2. Click on ‘Yes, this is a game’ if prompted – if not, simply click on the camera icon in the top left corner of the screen.
  3. Then click on ‘Show all captures’ below it to see your screenshots.
  4. Here, you can decide to click on the edit icon to rename the screenshot, ‘Open file location’ to access the file, ‘Share on Twitter’ to share the image, ‘Delete’, ‘Copy’, or ‘Create a meme’.
  5. Another way to access the file would be to go to File explorer >> Videos >> “Captures” folder

With the game bar, you can also make a recording of your screen – with or without your voice. To do this:

  1. Click on the record icon (a circle with a smaller circle in the middle) instead of the camera icon to start recording
  2. Then click on it again (this time it would have a square in the middle of a blue circle) to stop recording
  3. Click on ‘Show all captures’ below it to see your recording
  4. Here, you can decide to click on the play button to play the recording, the edit icon to rename the recording, ‘Open file location’ to access the file, or ‘Delete’.

HOW TO SCREENSHOT ON HP ENVY Laptops

To screenshot on HP envy, press the ‘FN’ and Right-Shift keys on your keyboard to print the screen. You should note that this method would only work if your Right-Shift key has ‘PRT SC’ on it, so confirm that it does, then simultaneously press the keys. After that, check File explorer >> Pictures >> Screenshots for your captured image. There are a few other methods to screenshot on HP envy, including more ‘PRT SC’ shortcuts and screenshot tools.

METHOD 2: Take a Screenshot On HP Envy Laptops with Snagit

You can also make use of ‘Snagit’ to make a screen recording or take a screenshot on HP envy. Simply follow these steps:

  1. Download and launch the Snagit app
  2. Press the ‘Capture’ button at the top of the screen
  3. Click on the camera icon to take a screenshot or the record icon to make a screen recording
  4. Use your mouse to select what part of the screen you wish to capture

How to Screenshot on HP Pavilion Laptops

A great way to take a screenshot on HP pavilion laptops is by using the Ink Workspace button.

You can also take a screenshot on HP Pavilion Laptops using an active pen. If your laptop comes with an HP active pen, follow the steps below to use it to take a screenshot:

  1. Download and install the ‘HP Pen Control’ app from the Microsoft store
  2. Open the app and tap the dropdown menu under any of the two buttons to customize the button function
  3. Click on ‘Take screenshot’ and then select ‘Apply’ to save your changes
  4. To take a screenshot with the pen, press the button you customized while the pen is near the laptops screen
