Spotify, the famous music streaming service, is particularly appreciated by its users for its hugely rich content catalog. Perhaps you got carried away because of this abundance and have had too many audio playlists and podcasts. Therefore, you need to do a bit of “cleaning” by deleting the ones you no longer listen to. Your Spotify followers can see everything you listen to in Friend Activity. So, perhaps you want to keep what you listen to away from the public.
Following this guide, you’ll see how to remove podcasts from Spotify, whether from the mobile app or your PC. It all comes down to a handful of taps or clicks. I’ll also show you how to remove and delete your recently played songs from the platform.
How to Remove Podcasts from Spotify (Android and iPhone)
- To permanently remove and stop the episodes and podcasts from appearing on your Spotify, open the Spotify app on your Android or iPhone.
- Go to Your Library, which you can find on the third bottom row from left to right. You can find your podcasts and episodes you listen to here.


- To remove these podcasts on Spotify, click on them, scroll up and tap on Following to unfollow the podcast.

- Once you tap that, you’d see a little notification that says the podcast and episode have been”Removed from Your Library.” Easy peasy!

- Repeat Steps 3 and 4 for every episode/podcast you wish to remove from your playlist or library.
- Once you do that, go back to your library, and you’d see there are no longer any episodes or podcasts that you’re currently listening to or following.
How to Find Your Favorite Podcasts on Spotify
For every podcast you follow, and whose episodes you listen to on Spotify, you’d find them in Your Library on the app.
So to find your favorite podcasts on your Spotify, go to the Your Library section, which you can find on the third bottom row at the Spotify home. You can find your favorite podcasts here (that is, the pages you follow).
Scroll down on the page, and you’ll find all the podcast episodes from which you can choose which to listen.
How to Clear Your Recently Played Songs on Spotify
- Open Spotify, and tap on Your Library, located at the bottom right.
- On the next screen, select the Playlist option.
- Identify the playlist which houses the songs to be removed by scrolling through the elements in the list. Tap on the playlist.
- Scroll up and look for the song(s) on the playlist. When you find it, tap on the three vertical dots on the right side of the bar.

- Then select Remove from this Playlist and confirm the removal
How to remove Spotify songs from a PC
The above procedure applies to both Android and iPhone/iPad devices. From a PC (client or Web service), things don’t change much. But here, it is also possible to perform multiple selections of songs.
- Open your Spotify program or site by going to www.open.spotify.com.
- Access the playlist by clicking on the Your Library from the left panel.
- Then click the preview image of the playlist from which you want to remove the songs.
- Scroll through the list of songs on the following screen to identify the one you want to delete
- Then press the three horizontal dots on the left side of the page.
- Click on Remove from this playlist to delete the song individually.
How to clear playlists from Spotify on Android
- Open the streaming app, and tap on the Your Library item at the bottom right.

- In the next screen, select the Playlist option from those shown above.

- Identify the playlist to be deleted by scrolling through the elements in the list below.
- Once you identify the playlist you want to clear, hold down on it for a few moments.
- A menu will come up. Select Delete playlist or Remove from Profile and confirm the intention with a tap on the Delete button.

Tips
- If you are already on the playlist screen with the list of songs to be played, you can also remove the playlist by pressing the three vertical dots on top. Then, select the Delete playlist function from the menu that will come up (if you created the playlist). Pretty easy!
- If, on the other hand, it is a playlist that has been included in your library after pressing on the green heart symbol, press on it again to remove it.
How to Delete Playlists from Spotify on iPhone
Once you open the app on your iPhone, tap the Your library tab at the bottom right. Find the Playlist you want to remove by scrolling down the elements. When you find it, click on it.
After accessing the playlist, press the symbol of the three horizontal dots and select the Delete playlist option from the menu that appears, confirming the operation with a tap on the Delete button in the next notification.
If you do not find it, presumably, it was not created by you. In this case, you can still delete the playlist from your library by removing any appreciation previously expressed through the I do not like function or tapping on the green heart symbol.
How to Delete Playlists from Spotify on PC
- Open the Spotify program on your computer.
- Right-click on the name of the playlist in the list in the left panel.
- Then select from the menu the Delete option and confirm with a further click on the Delete button.
- If you want a more extensive view of the section in question, press on the Your library option.
- Then select the Playlist category from the menu at the top of the main screen and scroll through the elements below until you find the one to be deleted.
- Click the right button on the relative preview image and select the Delete option twice.
Was the playlist in question not created by you? In this case, you will find the item Remove from your library. Once you press on it, you will see the message of successful deletion. If, on the other hand, you want to prevent other people from seeing the item in question on your profile, you can opt for the Remove from profile feature.
The operation can also be carried out using the special functions within the playlist. In this case, press the three horizontal dots placed next to the green button of the player to access the same menu seen above.
How to Hide Recently Played List From Your Spotify Profile
While we normally don’t care about our friends and followers seeing the music we listen to. Sometimes we may want to keep this a secret. There are two very simple ways to protect your privacy.
Method 1: Hide recently played songs on Spotify
- Start by opening the Spotify application from your apps menu.
- Select Your Library from the navigation menu at the bottom of the screen. This tab is on the right side of the navigation bar. Press on it.
- Scroll down till you find Recently Listened Artists. This section shows the playlists, artists, and albums you have just listened to recently.
- Press the button with 3 vertical dots ⁝ which is next to all the items you wish to hide. Next, look for the things you want to make private and click on these.
- A menu with various options will appear. Scroll down till you see the “Hide” feature. Then select it. Subsequently, the music will be hidden from the “Recently Listened Artists” section.
Method 2: Hide Listening Activities from Facebook
- Start by opening the Spotify application from your apps menu.
- Select Your Library from the navigation menu at the bottom of the screen. Next, select the tab on the right side of the navigation bar.
- Tap on the Settings icon in the upper right corner.
- Settings are categorized into several sections. Therefore, scroll down till you find a tab titled “Social.”
- Look for the “Private session” option in the “Social” section and press the slider to activate it. It will hide your listening activities from Facebook. However, consider that every session ends when your account becomes inactive for just six hours.
- Disable the Listening Activity option (optional). There is also an option for disabling “Listening Activities.” It is located under the “Private Session” option. Press on the slider to deactivate it if it is active. This will keep your listened content hidden, preventing them from being seen by your followers and your Spotify users.
