Sceptre C305B-200UN – Best Low Budget 200Hz Gaming Monitor with Crosshair for PS4 Pro
Play Station 4, 4 Pro, and Xbox gaming has never felt this real with a curved gaming monitor. With an HDMI cord, you get up to 165Hz with this gaming monitor, but with a Display Port, you get to max out the refresh rate at 200Hz. That is one of the best deals you will get on any budget gaming monitor for PS4 and other console gaming.
I played Apex Legends with this gaming monitor, which performed well. The ultra-wide at 1080p, high refresh rate, and response time all added up to improve the whole gaming experience. I also played Rocket League and COD; both were smooth and pretty.

At this size, the monitor doesn’t seem to have any stretched pixels, no dead pixels, or bleeding through the edges.
The sharpness is pretty strong, it comes with settings to adjust based on your preference and gaming setup.
You’ll also love the color and quality of the pictures. There are also two Chrome tabs and apps that can be run side-by-side, making it a great multitasking monitor.
Overall, for the price, coming as one of the cheapest gaming monitors for PS4 when we consider the price to the features provided (high refresh rate, low input lag, lots of ports, screen); the Sceptre C305B-200UN is one gaming monitor I can always recommend.
Asus VG278QR – Good Console Gaming Monitor for PS4
If you are looking for an affordable gaming monitor that’s large and fast, the Asus VG278QR is a great option. If you’re looking for a quality monitor for both PS4, PS4 Pro, and Xbox gaming consoles and one that will also work well for PC gaming, then I highly recommend the Asus VG278QR.
The color and picture quality were great out of the box, with no need for extra calibrations. The refresh rate was great at 144Hz and does a good job even after being maxed out at 165Hz.
I have played a couple of games on my PS4 and Xbox One X, and even though it’s a lot cheaper and has lesser features when compared to a 4K monitor, the 0.5ms response time and the refresh rates were pretty top-notch.
If you ever decide to use the gaming monitor for anything other than PS4 gaming, you can calibrate the monitor via the OSD and GPU control panel. I also noticed that when the RGB is set to full in the GPU control panel, the quality of the display was even better.
I loved the quality and sturdy build of this gaming monitor. It also supports ergonomics, so you can adjust the monitor to fit your setup and changing preferences.
You get two internal speakers that provided great sound quality on the Asus VG278QR, so there isn’t a pressing need to invest in external speakers unless you want one, of course.
While I think the color quality is great, I wouldn’t say it’s perfect. The Asus VG278QR is best for gamers looking for more speed and responsiveness.
So if you prioritize speed over superb graphics, this is a great deal, but if it’s the other way around, the Asus VG278QR might not get the job done for you 100 percent.
But overall, for its price, ease of assembly, support for ergonomics, quality of color, and pictures, the Asus VG278QR is one good cheap gaming monitor for PS4 you wouldn’t regret investing in.
LG 27GL650F-B – Best Affordable Gaming Monitor Under $500
The LG 27GL650F-B is one of my best budget gaming monitors for PS4 Pro, and it remains one of the best on the market for coming with features like Sync technology, superb 144Hz refresh rate, and an option to adjust the height, pivot, and tilt the monitor.
This makes it a very ergonomic gaming monitor. You should also expect to get a 5ms refresh rate and 1ms motion blur reduction.
I didn’t notice any backlight bleed, no dead pixels, and being an IPS display, it comes with great color quality and brightness.
The HDR brings good depth to most games, and the FreeSync comes in handy as you won’t have to deal with screen tearing when playing 1st-person and 3rd-person shooter games. It sports 350 nit display, so you’ll get very bright whites.
One recommendation is to go into the Advanced Display Settings and change the display settings from ‘Whatever Windows Decides” to “144Hz” if you’re playing console games on PS4, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.
Overall, I think the quality of the LG 27GL650F-B gaming monitor was very good, the absence of dead pixels, or graphical glitches, the adjustable, solid stand, the sturdy build and weight, and the response time and refresh rate all add up to make the LG 27GL650F-B one of the top affordable gaming monitors for PS4.

The Acer Nitro VG240Y is another affordable gaming monitor for PS4 that comes packed with outstanding features.
The Acer Nitro VG240Y comes with 1920 x 1080 pixels, FHD IPS display, Zero frame, 144Hz refresh rate, 1ms response rate, two HDMI 2.0 ports, and one Display Port.
The 24 inches IPS display provided great picture quality, the colors were also very good. The Acer Nitro VG240Y didn’t have any dead pixels in the time we used it, although we saw a barely noticeable backlight bleed on our unit.
While the colors are OK, you have the option to tweak them, so you will be able to adjust the brightness, contrast levels, and temperature to suit your needs and your gaming setup.
Playing my PS4 games was also pretty seamless. I could play high-graphic FPS games without issues, and everything seems to work just fine. There wasn’t any motion blurs in my games, the viewing angles were also pretty nice.
The Acer Nitro VG240Y is one pretty sturdy and heavy gaming monitor, the thin bezels were one thing I loved, and it comes with support for a VESA mount in case you don’t want to use the stand.
If you decide to use the stand, you should be able to tilt the monitor, but there isn’t any allowance for swiveling or raising the monitor.
Overall, considering the image quality, video game performance, the quality of the gaming monitor build, and considering that it is one of the cheapest gaming monitors for PS4 gaming, the Acer Nitro VG240Y makes it into my list.

Sceptre C275B-1858RN – Best Budget Gaming Monitor For PS4 Pro
Upon first glance, you’ll notice the curved screen of the Sceptre C275B-1858RN gaming monitor. While one might not expect premium features in a gaming monitor within the $200 range, this Sceptre C275B-1858RN model provides just enough.
I tested this gaming monitor for at least two weeks before writing this review, and it offers excellent value for its price, with 144Hz and 1080p resolution.
The response time is quick enough that you won’t notice a significant difference if you’re used to a TV with a 1ms response time.
However, I observed a faint line halfway across the screen, which is only noticeable on a gray background.
Additionally, many pictures and images displayed a faint edge around them. In my opinion, these are defects, and I hope they only occurred on the monitor I received.
Having used Sceptre monitors before, I can attest to the company’s reliable history with computer screens and their durability.
Screws for mounting the monitor’s base are included and easy to assemble. The panel comes wrapped, and the screen features a screen protector.
Primarily designed for gaming, this screen performed well throughout testing. I connected my gaming laptop to the monitor using an HDMI cord and achieved close to 144Hz after lowering my in-game settings due to GPU limitations. Overall, this gaming monitor provides excellent value for its price.
